Manning Looks To Take It To The Bengals

Manning Looks To Take It To The Bengals

Sports,Entertainment It’s about half way through the season as most teams are playing their eighth game of the season this week, and the Comeback Player of the Year is about as big of a yawner as there comes. Denver Broncos quarterback and fantasy football legend Peyton Manning closed the door on any debate weeks ago when he rallied his Broncos back from a 24-0 deficit on the road in the second half against the San Diego Chargers. That game was a pace setter as the Chargers have not won s

ince and the Broncos have not lost since, and now look like they will run away with the division virtually unopposed (unless the Oakland Raiders have a second half surprise in store). The bigger question about Manning is if he will be the MVP of the league when all is said and done. Manning currently is the highest rated passer in the NFL and he is doing it with receivers like Eric Decker and Brandon Stokely. He may not be winning more games than Tim Tebow did last year, but he’s at

least got the Broncos (and fantasy football owners) winning games, he seems to have hit his stride and unlike Tebow, he looks good doing it. Manning isn’t the kind to try and win the game in the fourth quarter, unless he has to and with the exception of the first quarter of their week two loss to the Atlanta Falcons when he threw three interceptions, Manning has been deadly accurate. There’s no reason to think that Manning won’t continue his road back to being one of the elite quarterbacks in the leag

e (he’s practically already there) this week when the Broncos take on the Cincinnati Bengals who have the league’s 16th ranked passing defense through the first eight weeks. Many thought that the Bengals would be able to compete this season and make the playoffs. While that certainly can still happen, it is becoming more and more apparent that it might not happen when it is all said and done. They are a solid team, but still a bit too young to win each and every week. Look for the Broncos to rely on their veteran quarterback and pick up a nice win at the end of the day. Denver wins again, despite being on the road. Prediction: Denver 24, Cincinnati 17 Top fantasy scorers: Manning 23, A.J. Green 17
